Improved Calendar and Contacts
With the release of cPanel v120 in April 2024, the Calendar (CalDAV) and Contacts (CardDAV) have been integrated natively into cPanel via the cPanel WebDAV service, providing a more reliable and optimised user experience.
End users will experience:
- A reorganized Webmail interface.
- A new UI to manage calendars and contact groups.
- cPanel accounts now have the ability to share collections with other webmail users.
- A user will have the ability to share their own collections with other users within Webmail.
The update is being rolled out gradually across all of our servers and we expect it to be completed by the end of Q3 2024.
Removal of Exchange ActiveSync (EAS via Z-Push)
With this major cPanel update, the Exchange ActiveSync (EAS via Z-Push) feature was removed from cPanel and will no longer be available as of February 2024, starting with cPanel version 120. This change was announced by cPanel in their roadmap:

With the removal of Exchange ActiveSync support and no alternative currently available, unfortunately, the Calendar and Contacts can no longer be synchronised with devices and applications that don't have native support for CalDAV and CardDAV, the protocols that serve these two features. The most commonly affected are Android™ devices and Microsoft Outlook.
Alternatives
For Android devices, the DAVx5 app can be used, for which a guide is provided by cPanel: How to Sync Calendars, Contacts, and Email on Android™ Devices
While there may be other similar applications, DAVx5 stands out as one of the most favored options.
For Microsoft Windows, the free Thunderbird and Betterbird email applications natively support CalDAV (calendars) and CardDAV (contacts).
For Microsoft Outlook, unfortunately, there's no longer built-in support for CalDAV (calendars) and CardDAV (contacts) at the moment, with the removal of ActiveSync via Z-Push. The only alternative we're aware of would be the free Outlook CalDav Synchronizer plugin. However, since it's a free third-party plugin, please be aware that its functionality may be limited and no support is provided for it.

Currently, the cPanel development team have decided not to provide an alternative for Exchange ActiveSync (EAS), as per this roadmap feature:
If you'd like to see ActiveSync support return to cPanel, we encourage you to submit your feedback on the above page. If there will be significant demand, cPanel may consider working on an alternative in future cPanel versions.
